However, using the hash tags too many times is not a good idea. You can use the hash tags wisely if you have huge followers. It may not be enough to trend on twitter, but you will get more followers and traffic. It will show in twitter search, and people can find related topics easily. Twitter recommends best practices and using no more than three hash tags in a tweet. I use two hash tags in my tweets one with broad topics and one more specific.
Hash tags also generate advertising revenues, and that is the reason some say hash tags are not practical. Recently, hash tags were useful for job seekers to find jobs. You can use hash tags to find similar topics and ideas. For example, as a blogger you can search on twitter for certain topics using hash tags.
